Sr. Product Support Engineer BSEE

Analyze and establish manufacturing methods, procedures and systems to ensure an efficient operation.  Implement purchase of appropriate tooling and equipment where necessary. Develop and implement new product and process technology from conception through implementation, prototyping, testing, tool/equipment/fixtures procurement and implementation.
Troubleshoot and implement corrective action for manufacturing and product problems.  May have assignments for the enhancement and modification of products and will be responsible for those aspects of product development from conception through pilot run and production launch
Provide leadership and work direction to design, manufacturing resources and in the pilot run of new products and ensure elimination of any inherent Manufacturing difficulties.
Create shop floor documentation, including operator instructions. Review all engineering and product design specifications and drawing requirements and the provisions for tooling, equipment, etc., as required.   
Participate in cross-functional project coordination with marketing sales, materials and suppliers. Initiate procedures and Capital Budget data for procurement of any and all capital items as related to the entire Operation.  Introduce approved capital equipment to Manufacturing. 
Prepare accurate cost estimates for product alterations, suggesting design or manufacturing changes for more economic manufacture.
Review, evaluate and implement changes to Manufacturing methods, procedures or equipment to provide standardization and cost reduction.  Recommend changes to operating procedures to improve productivity.
Ensure timely orientation of Manufacturing personnel to changes or improvements in methods, procedures, systems, tooling or equipment to ensure support and proper implementation.
Provide root cause analysis on returned products as requested by Production and/or QA.
Support product information initiatives, which include product documentation (drawings, BOM’s, CAD files, information sheets, specifications, etc.), Design Tasks (layouts, modeling, etc.) and ECN processing.      
As required, support product test initiatives by procuring, building and testing products and competitive products. 
Work closely with product development to launch and commercialize new products.  This includes technical follow-through activities as well as product commercialization.  Act as the bridge to transition products from development to production and ensure a timely, smooth transition to the customer (factory, end user, etc.). 
 
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE, SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, with five to eight years' experience.
Solid background in Engineering, including all areas of manufacturing including fixturing, poke yoke and engineering design. 
Software skills to both develop and support the assigned manufacturing processes as well as product support.
Proficiency at troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Familiarity with implementing robust manufacturing processes for precision mechanical or electronic products in an ISO 9000 environment.
Proficient at leading Kaizen events and small teams to eSr. Product Support Engineer
